The children's folk ensemble Lipovček was founded in 2012 as the preparatory ensemble for FS Lipovec. It is based in Vranov nad Topľou – Čemerné and has two groups: children aged 4 to 8 and children aged 9 to 14, around 90 children in total. They learn traditional games that were once part of everyday life and gradually move on to dances with simpler dance motifs.
In 2015, at the 40th Children's Folklore Festival and 25th national competition of children's folk ensembles in Likavka near Ružomberok, Lipovček placed in the silver band among 14 finalists with the programme “Na pašvisku” and received a special Audience Award. This wonderful success rewarded everyone who cares about preserving folk traditions and bringing folk art closer to young people.
Lipovček's road to national success: it was named laureate of the district round in Vranov nad Topľou and advanced to the regional round in Raslavice, where it was again named laureate and advanced to the national final. The artistic and organisational leaders are Anička and Miro Jenčo, who are also the choreographers and costume makers.
